Its all vivid still ... Long ago I worked in the bowels of a merchant ship as an apprentice engineer. It’s when the Singaporean Superintendent invited me for dinner along with the English Captain and Scottish Chief Engineer to a Chinese Dinner, I discovered gross inadequacy handling the chopsticks. It was addressed as soon as I got back to the ship.. I went on to be adept at the craft, practicing with a pair of 3.2 mm arc welding rods and a box full of scrap , nuts and bolts et al. There was no stopping after that.... tian tian yong kuaizi when negotiating Chinese delights. But somehow I find Mid East and South Asian spreads tasting better accompanied with some finger licking.. :-)
