good lesson. I want to thank you guys for these lessons- I recently went to Xiamen and 90% of my conversations there were in Chinese... even with my barely-elementary knowledge, having looked at some key lessons I was able to get by ok. Cheers, and keep 'em coming!

thanks very much Mark. So I guess I am correct in assuming that it would be ok to call any local currency in a country by "kuai", as long as it is clear in context.

Hi guys, I know this is an old lesson, but I was hoping someone could answer a question for me (though I am sure it's been answered elswhere on cpod). Is "kuai" also a generic term for money, much the way "buck" is? Or is it specific to RMB? So, can I say to someone in Hong Kong XYZ kuai when I mean XYZ HKD? Similarly, when talking to a Chinese speaking person in the US/UK, can I refer to USD or Pounds as kuai, etc.?
Thanks for the help!

good lesson guys, thank you. didn't know receipt could be such a hassle haha. It's usually pretty straightforward here in HK. Anyway, happy new year!
