November 20, 2012 at 3:53 PMA little grammar question. When I studied in Taiwan I was told that you have to use two 了s in a sentence to mean that the action began in the past and continues in the present.
In the sentence 你来中国多久了 I was told it would mean "How long did you live in China? And that 你来中国，来了多久了? would mean "How long have you lived in China?"
Are both okay?
