Well :) it makes sense! I have no plans to visit China soon but I would truly enjoy it! I will one day, for sure! My motivation for learning this language is composed of pure love for China and Chinese people (don’t really know where it came from, probably from books and movies) and my wish to maybe one day get a chance to improve my knowledge about green architecture, sustainability in architecture and alternative energy solutions.

I have tendency to be too much detailed and it slows me but at the same time my nature is impatient :) so to be honest :))) I hoped someone experienced will tell me “don’t do all those characters, just that ones in Vocabulary” :))) (so that I could do every day one lesson) and set me free from the guilt because “I want it all and want it now!”.

No joke anymore! :) Thank you a lot because you answered me and at the end gave me the right advice, it’s all up to me :) but, as I sad, I tried to cheat myself.

Hello I am new and newbai and I am really glad that I find this site by fortune. Didn't hear about you from anyone and you were just one in a thousand sites that Google offered me when I become interested in Mandarin. But I find the best one! Yes! :) I find Chinesepod method very interesting and finally I decided to become dedicated to learning Mandarin. So… I need some advice…

 

I want learn to write too, so when listen a lesson I practice writing too. But it takes some time and I have in average one hour per day for Chinese. In every lesson there are characters that are used in lesson dialog (Vocabulary), some additional (Supplementary vocabulary) and some extra (in Expansion chapter).

 

Off course I want to become fluent in Mandarin as soon as possible but when I practice writing for every character that appears in lesson it goes very slow :) I have the impression that without writing practice I could progress five times faster through course.

 

So… what do you recommend? What is the best way? Maybe I should practice just characters in Vocabulary and others just to try to register in the memory? Or… I should go slowly but in detail… help! :)
