There seem to be several varieties - the ones made of moulded pastry (with various fillings), others made of flakey pastry and some which are more like a cake, without any filling.

LIsten and Choose exercise is a great idea as it includes listening and writing. I've tried the pinyin - any advice on an idiot's guide to typing characters?

I agree that we can waste time looking for grammar rules. However I would like clarification about the position of time words in a sentence - seems to be generally before the verb. In some examples they are before the pronoun but in other sentences the pronoun is first. Help!

Is there a problem with the download files for this lesson? I try to download some files for each lesson but have only been able to download the pdf file so far.

Another good lesson. One thing that I don't like is having the English between the characters and the pinyin - I'd find it more helpful to have it the other way around.

These are really good. One thing I'd like to go with this is a summary of the main points. I can't download the MP3 files so have to do all of these on-line.
