November 23, 2008 at 2:45 AMI am mostly exposed to simplified characters recently, and having got used to them, I now feel like they’re easier to read and write. But I still like traditional forms because they kind give the feeling of connection to several thousand years of history and culture. And some simplifications were really too radical, making simplified forms losing harmony. For example, I prefer traditional form of 氣, or at least the Japanese 気 to the simplified 气. And simplified 买 really brings me to the verge of tears. Why couldn’t they say make it an 一 on top of 贝?
