The best things in Taiwan: Democracy, Internet without the Great Firewall, and the people are more friendly and not so materialistic than in Mainland China.

Pinyin and Simplification are both hated children of Maoism in Taiwan. No wonder that Wade-Giles, Tongyong Pinyin, and other romanizations are more popular than Pinyin from the Mainland. In the last years things have changed a bit, though.

7-Eleven is a subsidiary of Seven & I Holdings Co., a Japanese company.

It's a 100 percent Japanese company, but most people think it's a US company. It's not!

The only difference: in Taiwan it's written 米飯, not 米饭. ;-)

the meaning is here "good enough".

差不多 chàbuduō has 3 meanings:

① almost / nearly / more or less

② almost equal/-ly, about the same

③ good enough / not bad

So the difference between 累 and 睏 seems to be

累 tired -- 睏 sleepy

???

If you are tired, but not want to sleep:

我很累。

If you are tired and want to go to sleep:

我很睏。

or

我又累又睏。

Am I right??

In Taiwan "同志" means "homosexual" (slang).
