对我来说，这个话题很有趣。谢谢你们！ My Chinese teachers have acknowledged the fact that I'm a leftie, but never made me feel uncomfortable about it, so either it really isn't that much of an issue or I've just been lucky!

Leftie-acceptance has never seemed to be much of a problem in my life, so it's interesting to note that it in fact isn't universal or even wasn't here where I live during the time of the Soviet Union when my parents still went to school. I've been told some of their 天生 leftie friends were forced to write with their right hand. So for all I know this might have been the conversation my parents had when I was about to start going to school!

Excellent lesson! The 在 before words, that obviously don't indicate a location, had been bugging me for a while now, so was happy to see that one touched upon here.

Are there any other constructions or occasions when one can use 在 with the exception of indicating a location or the "在。。。的时候" construction?

I'm somewhat familiar with the "在。。。上" construction and am also aware of "在一起" among other phrases being used that way, but generally this is still all new territory to me!
