In the airport I often hear bānjī 班机 rather than hángbān 航班.  Are they interchangeable?

After listening to the lesson and learning the meaning of 头脑, it seems this story could appropriately be named "The Importance of Intelligence". In English we can say she is a brain. In Chinese, are very smart people referred to simply as 头脑? Ta1 shi4 tou2nao3 or ta1 you3 tou2nao3? 他是头脑 or 他有头脑？ Thanks for another great lesson Ken and Jenny.
