Now that I am thinking about this, the name appears in stage names of second-tier corny pop-song singers (e.g. "Jack White") . Also, stereotypically, east-German unemployed parents have been using English names for their children after reunification. These poor guys are now about approaching adulthood and "Kevin", "Mandy", "Jack" etc. are fairly clear social background indicator.
