That's true. Then there are so many apps that let you enhance your picture afterwards. Does 自拍 only mean the time-delayed 自拍 where the iPhone waits for 10 seconds before it shoots? Or also the normal 自拍 where you're holding it in your arm pointing at you? The ABC dictionary explicitly says it's the former.

I would like to look at texts from China (company websites, blogs, novels, anything), Qing Wen could analyze their context and then explain why particular words are used or why certain words are used together (like verbs and objects, adverbs and verbs, or adjectives and nouns). Looking at some text from the Apple China website, for example, would surely make it easy to remember words in their precise meaning as they are used in something most listeners can relate to. It's often harder to read a Chinese text well if one lacks the cultural background.

The difference between Qing Wen and other lessons would be that Qing Wen works with real-life texts and spends more time on usage. Or you could start doing follow-up Qing Wens to answer some of the questions that have been asked about the previous Qing Wen.

谢谢!

It's correct, maybe it's better to say "我去过成都的动物园" because you describe an experience. Also, "没有看见过狮子、豹子" for the same reason. Chengdu must be an interesting place, with plenty of hot foods. :)

Great tip.

Just a word of caution when you read it on Kindle (the app--don't know about the physical Kindle): The Chinese characters and Pinyin in the book do not render. They're working on fixing it.

They say it still lacks Flashcards, and naturally it isn't as stable as the iOS version yet. There's a lot of discussion on it at www.plecoforums.com.

Here is the link: http://www.pleco.com/androidbeta.html

Indeed, MDBG is well-designed.

Looking at "collocations" (搭配, a record of words frequently used together) should be useful for understanding words, as well. If anyone knows of such a dictionary online, I'd be glad to hear it.

If you use Pleco (iPhone/Android), pressing the "Full" button allows you to search the full text of a dictionary for both English and Chinese words, including the example sentences. I like the quality of these results; the sentences cover more terrain with fewer words, the other sites tend to have many repetitions.

But I have to admit, I have to start using it more.

So, according to Jiaojie and Jenny, the difference isn't a big one, but it may well be in the direction you figured out, kimiik.
