As far as I know, that's a correct sentence. But I'm not quite sure if the 了 necessary.

你做飯做得很好 - would be the best option is you want to compliment someone's cooking.

I think you could also omit the first 做,to make the sentence a bit more colloquial . The sentence then would be:

你做得很好。
