I found this on another site: shítiāngān the ten Heavenly Stems: 甲 jiǎ, 乙 yǐ, 丙 bǐng, 丁 dīng, 戊 wù, 己 jǐ, 庚 gēng, 辛 xīn, 壬 rén, 癸 guǐ, used cyclically in the calendar and as ordinal numbers I, II, III, A, B, C etc.

July 16, 2014 at 12:22 PMIn your discussion you explain A, B and C (or Roman I, II, III) with B given in the dialogue as yǐ 乙. What are the corresponding 汉字 for A jiǎ and C bǐn please? I was unable to find these characters on any of my 中英词典.

May 31, 2012 at 9:20 AMThis happened to me in Shanghai ("Shanghaied in Shanghai!") in the Nanjing Dong Lu mall. I knew exactly what was happening so I went along with the ride. She took me to her patron tea house, ordered food and drinks. I deliberately sat silently. Then she commenced to eat and drink and chat merrily - I touched nothing. Then the bill came. About US$150. I gave her the bill, remarked that it was she alone who ordered and consumed, then I stood up, smiled, turned, said xiexie zaijian, and walked away.

December 14, 2015 at 3:56 AMHi, at the 26 second mark of the video we see for the first time the Hanzi characters for these three word. Unfortunately, the font is in some funky stylised cartoon script. Please bear in mind that these characters may be new or unfamiliar to non-native speakers, especially the Chinese Pod audience. I could not recognise them. In future please just use simple familiar font that accurately resembles the word as it would be commonly found. Please do not use crazy funky fonts. They are most unhelpful to new language learners.
