February 6, 2009 at 3:47 AMIn Shanghai, we hired a 'taxi' who was driving an unmarked van at the train station since we thought he might be cheaper. He had a hard time finding the hotel and charged us double what he said he would charge. Real taxi drivers were very good.

I didn't know Amber was a fellow Canadian. Her speech sounds completely normal. I've noticed people from Manitoba or Ontario are more likely to pronounce the 'ou' more like Hosers than the rest of us do. Who else at Cpod is Canadian?

April 6, 2008 at 3:03 PMI just got back from my first visit to China a couple of days ago, which was fantastic by the way. I noticed a lot of farmers fields had what seemed to be burial mounds or grave stones on them.
