Hi user28880,

I’ve enjoyed reading your comment. That is a real good story. You made my day, thanks. Dance, as well as sport, is not my thing, but I always respect, and envy, people who can dance well. That’s just great! By the way, I’ve found the Chinese translation of West Coast Swing on the Internet, although I myself don’t know at all what it is like.

Hi henning,

Good point! He should have said 罗马数字二百, or at least 一百 instead of 八!

I think this must be a very universal saying.
And I modified it as follows,

Hi shensw,

Tks for the info. "当家的" (husband) is also very interesting, and it reminds me of an famous American movie titled "小鬼当家" (Home Alone)!

Hi mattahmet,

Thank you very much for the links. I’ve enjoyed reading both of them. This “首尔 problem is a bit complicated in a way apart form “Munbai” and “Beijing” problems. Of course, Munbai / Beijing issues are also interesting and complicated enough to attract your attentions.

The problem is that the Chinese name “汉城” is mainly being used in China, not in Korea anymore, therefore it is NOT Korean people who take the trouble to change the name, but IS Chinese people who need to take the trouble to change the name from 汉城 to 首尔.

I think that the change of the city name substansially has nothing to do with ordinary Korean people in everyday life, unless they are learning Chinese or Cantonese. And therefore I must say that it’s just a matter of nationalism and pride in Korean society. No more and no less.
