I am a 老人 64 year old,Thai national living in South Hadley, Massachusetts. I have been a ChinesePod fan since 2007 and I started from scratch. I have made a lot of progress 进歩 since then. I am now a 中级学生. The reason I want to learn Chinese because I want to keep my brain busy with the new language. It is said that learning a new language is good for your brain. It helps recruite new brain cells and net works thus helps prevent Alzheimer's disease. Chinese characters are pictorial, so we use our right side of the brains to identify and read them where as we use the left side of the brain to read the English language because it's non pictorial. So my point is, knowing Chinese as a second or third language is a good idea in case you have a stroke in the left side of your brain, you'll lose the ability to read English but you still have the Chinese language as a back up because it is stored in the right side of the brain. Other reasons I want to learn Chinese are that I want to be able to understand Chinese media, sing Chinese songs, watch Chinese movies and news and know more about Chinese cultures.  大䆥親年快乐。

I am really glad that I have listened to this Qing Wen. I helps clarify these kind of verbs that I frequently see it or hear it, but never really get a hang of it. I think it is a very useful lesson for learners of Chinese.
