April 12, 2011 at 1:23 AMI recently heard someone use one of the words from this lesson, the word 猜。 The person said "你猜猜是什么“ 。 I know this means "guess what it is", but I'm wondering if both of the two 猜 characters are supposed to be read 1st tone, or if the 2nd 猜 is neutral tone. Which is it ?
Should it be cāicāi, or cāicai ?

April 8, 2011 at 9:01 AMThanks for the explanation !!
So can we ever say a hotel is both 老 and 旧 ? For example , can I say "那是很老的,也很旧的饭店。“ ? Do these two words ever show up in the same sentence ?

April 8, 2011 at 4:37 AMI thought the way to say "old", for everything other than people is 旧 . I was surprised when I heard 老 used in the dialogue. I was hoping this would be explained during the rest of the lesson, but it wasn't . Can someone please explain this ?

April 13, 2011 at 9:00 AMWhen I clicked on "dialogue", I saw that it the second line, it says 妈妈,instead of just 妈. The spoken dialogue, and the voice recording when clicking to hear the audio for that individual line only have "我妈”,instead of 妈 written twice.
