that post came out all wrong....here it is in correct order Longdehua yerknowwhat? You could be right about the mancheng thing being man city FC... Know one ever knows where Leeds is so I just say its near "mancheng". and they always know it. So they either just think I mean live near the football pitch, or they guess that I must mean manchester. Either way Ive look stupid. ........ Dont know where I got it from...maybe someone just said it and I thought it sounded like manchester.... Jason Sch. London cabbies are very good. they go through rigourous exams and get paid rather well for their troubles. And the cabs are nice and big so theres no Shanghai type 'hiding the fifth person in the back so the driver cant see and tell you to get out' going on.

ill respond to this, but I am sure other people will have a better way to explain it. As I said its complicated and in different contexts and verbs their meaning changes. Its more about listening more to how chinese use it. 吃了-had some food 吃过-eaten that before 吃好- finished eating, (and normally a feeling it was satifactory) 吃到- i never really heard that. good examples of 到 are 收到-recieved,想到-thought. like the thing has 'reached you'. but then " 说到"..... im also confused....

chand ...big questions. the most simple answers are... verb+le = verb has happened verb+guo= has ever happened verb+dao= verb has been done/completed verb+hao= verb completed to expected result but theres alot more to it than that. Grammar books help

Just a shame everyone is so damned polite! Anyone who wants a fight can meet me tonight at peoples square. Ill be the one with boxing gloves and a "jiantiza rules" t shirt.

I 看不起anyone who has bothered to take the time to learn 繁体字 and lives in Mainland China. Takes far too much energy and time, and is not needed. Also, I cant understand them so...
