"爽" is used very common in people 10~30 years old. you can say it when you feel very comfortable or excited.
eg:一杯二锅头，我一饮而尽，爽！
"喂" is often used "wei2" when you answering the phone. you can use "喂,您好" instead of "喂",cause it's more polite and common used.
no matter "wei2" or "wei4" you can use it feel free when answering the phone.

you should say it like this
我去中国旅行 太高兴了！我昨天坐飞机从广州到了昆明，现在在下雨，在云南 夏天一般都下雨.

of course,you can say it more colloquial like this:
哥们儿现在在中国玩儿,爽！昨天坐飞机从广州飞到昆明,结果下雨,没办法 云南夏天就是这个样子。

your understanding of "旅游" and "旅行" is definitely correct.
most of the time,a business travel is called "出差".
There are other words express the different travelling style:
family responsibilities we can say:"探亲"
for educational or religious reasons,i'm not sure about that,may be you can say "朝圣" ;) (dont use it,it's a joke)
