January 30, 2010 at 1:40 AMI have the weirdest experience here in Beijing with people staring at me. When I'm in other cities I never get such strange looks and impolite words from local people. In every other city I've been to in China, from Guangzhou to Tianjin, people might stare, but it's followed with a friendly smile, and people are as usually so nice to speak with me. But in Beijing, where there are LOTS of other foreigners, people regard me as a strange awkward alien. If I don't speak Chinese PERFECTLY, they make loud jokes about how this 老外 can't even speak clearly. Is this a Beijing phenomena, or is it just me?

December 31, 2009 at 10:28 PM第一次到中国去过曲阜的孔子庙，看过孔子之墓，非常感动。女朋友就是一位曲阜来的人，我太爱的山东省。那我也是不太理解儒学的分类 - 宗教或哲学，这样问题对我们洋人有点儿不清楚。我一开始学中国历史和语言我听说过儒学是哲学，但我去过很多孔子庙在中国大陆和台湾，都看起来像佛教寺庙，所以我也不清楚。我自己觉得这是我们洋人（西方来的）的概念因为我们只在教会敬奉天神，不敢敬奉哲学家。

August 13, 2010 at 3:43 AM希望我准备写论文的时候我有机会听着这个podcast.我的专业是中国历史，还有我的论文选题是霍元甲的故事对中国娱乐的影响。可是，我教授以为我想研究霍元甲正说的生活。她跟我吵架一下因为霍元甲生活的消息太少的。我写好论文的草稿以后，她终于明白我的选题，很不好意思地情况，我中文说得写得都很差。
