Hello,

I was wondering if someone could please clarify why “可”is used when saying “我可是眼镜蛇”. “可是”clearly doesn’t mean “but” here so I’m a bit confused why it’s being used. Also, world it be correct to just say “我是眼镜蛇”? or is the “可”there for some sort of emphasis?
