I'm curious about the placement of 了 right after the verb. Would it be incorrect for the first statement in the dialogue to be 我買一台制麵包機了？

The tones strike again! I can't believe 買 and 賣 are the same spelling, but with different tones. I think I see some confusing shopping in my near future :)
