Regarding the usage of "除了"
I have been told that if you use it in the context of this lesson: "除了。。。 还" it means "besides this"
While if you use it in this context: "除了。。。 以外" it means "except for this" or "outside of this"
除了我以外大家都喜欢喝咖啡。
chu le wo yi wai da jia dou xi huan he ka fei.
Except for me, everyone likes to drink coffee.
I just thought I'd bring that up since I found it very interesting that 除了 can be used in both ways.
I just wanted to add that I found the rate of speech on this lesson to be easier for me. My listening skills are definitely one of my weaker points and so it helps that I can process the speech a bit before they talk more :-)
