November 3, 2011 at 11:38 AMInteresting that we have 小姐 xiǎo jiě here. I recently said this when talking to a young Chinese woman at a conference, and she was shocked. I was just hearing on qing wen that we learners should be careful with that one, since it can mean prostitute as well as miss. Can I conclude that xiǎo jiě is fine in the service industry but use 女士 nǔshì at the next conference?

October 30, 2011 at 1:29 AMHow do you say "for breakfast"?
Can I just say: 我早餐吃了包子? (I breakfast ate baozi)
How about: 我早餐喜欢吃包子? (I for breakfast like to eat baozi)
