On p 111 of Henry Kissinger's 2011 book, "On China," the story is related in detail as told by Mao to a Communist Party conference. It would have been interesting to have learned that in the dialogue. Too bad that ChinesePod does not offer notes on the political history of China, when it can be done without offending people -- as presumably the case here.

In the supplemental vocabulary is that character correct for liu (taking the dog for a walk)?  It looks like the first tone "escape or skate" character.
