to a company, I don't know how to start a letter.  To an unknown person maybe: 谨禀者： to a friend the name itself is enough a greating, maybe you can add +左右.  The most informal way would be 你好！

ending in a formal letter is your name+敬上 to your friend name+上 or name+顿首. The most informal way would be name+字.
