April 2, 2012 at 2:07 AMBy the way, the US has Animal Cops that arrest people for abusing animals. One time, they rescued some frogs from a Chinese restaurant. At the back of my mind was "So much fuss for nothing, they are not cute, and they are as tough as cockroaches that they will survive when human beings become extinct. Why don't you go chase some serious criminals!" My 9-year-old American born daughter who wants to be a Vet has other ideas though.

April 2, 2012 at 1:55 AMI am not a vegetarian but I believe in the humane treatment of animals and to be a responsible steward of our natural resources. I understand that a pet dog is considered by many dog lovers as part of the family but a human life is at all time more precious than that of an animal. Therefore I do not consider eating dogs raised as livestock to be a form of cannibalism or a crime although I personally will never eat one.
