April 3, 2009 at 9:57 AMPete,
Thanks for the quick response.
Using the word "convenient" as you did, probably means you have been in China too long.
Why do you use a mobile phone? It's convenient!
Why do you eat at Macdonald's? It's convenient!
Why did you get married? It's convenient!
Why do you always use convenient? It's convenient!
Any insights as to why "convenient" gets used so much in China?
Thanks.

April 3, 2009 at 8:22 AM请问,我可以说:
我把一块儿巧克力掰断给你。
掰 looks like two hands breaking something into pieces, hence 分 in the middle. Very elegant character!

April 3, 2009 at 10:31 AMMe again.
In "A Simple Song" by 王力宏 he sings:-
云和天,蝶和花
从来不不需要说话
断不了依然,日夜牵挂
But what is he saying is unbreakable? Is it the relationship between the butterflies and flowers?
Any ideas anyone?
