Posted on: When To Use “不” bù and “没” méi?

Hi Fiona,

Still not quite clear for me. Please correct me if I'm wrong:

1) If the verb describes "action" and used in the past we use "mei": 我没吃蛋糕

2) If the verb describes "action" and used in present or future we use "bu": 我不吃蛋糕

3) If the verb describes "state", it is used with "mei" 沒有 or "bu" 不认识 always and in all times. The time is specified only with special words like 现在, 昨天 etc; example 昨天你不热 and 现在你不热.

Correct?

Hi everyone!

i think there is a simpler way of explanation: "bu" we use for present and future, and "mei" for past? Isn't it?
