March 8, 2011 at 10:00 PMIn this lesson you teach that it is ok to say 'yi4lai2', 'er4lai2', and then continue on to 'san1lai2' etc. However in a previous lesson I remember it was taught that you cannot go past 'er4lai2'. It was mentioned that this structure is similar to how in English we have 'on the one hand', 'on the other hand', 'but no on the third hand'.
Can you clarify which of these is correct?

March 8, 2011 at 10:01 PMAlso, the authors of the dialogue obviously had something specific and humorous in mind with the symbolizm, but nobody has been able to clearly say what that was. Would a Chinesepod teacher mind posting that information in the name of education...
