August 16, 2007 at 3:47 PMin 躬, 身 is the radical (classifies the character) and 弓 is the phonetic (also a pictogram in this case) as with 躲 hide (duǒ) or 躺 (tǎng) to lie down - am I speaking out of turns here?

August 16, 2007 at 9:12 AMhopscotch = 跳房子 tiào fángzi (talking to myself :-) another thing I saw when I was in 郑州 last year is people playing tops 陀螺 tuóluó with whips, 鞭子 biānzi though I guess they were more likely to be grown ups. There's also diabolos 空竹 kōngzhú of which they had asymetrical versions, but as with juggling (耍把戏 shuǎ bǎxì ?) it's not games most kids play. I guess kites 风筝 fēngzheng have become a high-tech thing but it's difficult for me not to associate kites with China for some reason

August 15, 2007 at 9:02 PMI knew 绕口令 (ràokǒulìng /tongue twister) as a noun, I guess 绕口 is the corresponding verb. The 绕口 in this lesson are new 标语 (biāoyǔ) slogans, is there another word for 'buzzword' as 口号 (kǒuhào)?
