The expansion section only contains 'wo3 yi1dian3 ye3 kan4bujian4', which does not occur in the lesson at all. As Ken says in this lesson, more examples are the key...
On the point of myopia, I heard that eyesight development may be linked to letting your baby lie on their front to develop back strength and get ready to crawl ('tummy time') during which time they are focusing on objects ahead of them. My impression is that Chinese parents are not keen to put their babies down like this and let them 'work out' on their own (floor too cold?). My ayi thinks I am making my baby 'tai2 lei2 le'.

January 2, 2012 at 1:58 AMHaving been in China for ages, we do longjohns and electric blanket. We just put the blanket on to heat up the bed so it's cosy and then switch it off when we get in. Is this a safe compromise? Having it on all night is somehow reminiscent of being roasted on a spit.
