The textbooks I use all have 儿 in them and I always use it in my speech and writing, but my teacher is from Beijing so I just follow her lead.

September 30, 2010 at 10:58 AMI suppose it does make sense in a way to work at the weekend, but I think I'll keep the long weekend tradition of the UK and the US. The PRC government just seems to be tricking you into thinking they're being more generous than they actually are.
On the shopping front, I think we Westerners have plenty of time to shop! What about Christmas, Thanksgiving etc?

September 2, 2009 at 11:36 AMIs 听说 a verb in the the sense of putting pronouns in front? The translation confuses me a bit because in English it was translated as I have heard while in Chinese it was just 听说 without even a 我. Thanks.
