In my experience, a blanket is usually a single piece of fabric that can be thin or thick. Once you start adding any kind of filling, multiple layers, cross stitching, or other modifications, it turns into a comforter or duvet. To me, duvet is just a fancy sounding comforter.

Now, quit hogging the blanket! :)

Jenny, I'm also learning Mandarin using a "well known" interactive PC program and I learned (apologies for phonetic spelling here) ye gah nu har a long time ago.  Hearing you speak it in this lesson and understanding it instinctively without having to translate it in-my-head gave me a really nice confidence boost because it came so naturally to me! woo hoo :)

Actually the sound quality was the first thing I noticed. For this lesson though I was listening through the webpage on my PC instead of the podcast on my ipod so I thought that was the problem.

I visited Manila and Cebu in 2004. One of my favorite things to eat there are Lansones. They are small peelable fruit that has segments like a tangerine, but tastes more like a grape or other melon type of fruit. I could eat a whole bowl in one sitting!! :) Sadly you can only get them frozen here in the states. :(

Also they have a juice called guyabano that is incredible. I preferred to drink that for breakfast instead of the usual orange or grapefruit juice.

Hi Pete,

I just started listening to your show recently but I'm enjoying it very much. I'm still newb status but I'm making progress (according to my Chinese friends here in SoCal).

I liked the show you did with Jenny and Connie where you mentioned a preference for whiskey and dark chocolate (same here), but the Baker Street intro music is too cool! Its been a favorite since I was a kid.

I look forward to your next poem.

Thanks

Wow, I totally missed her show having just come online here recently. I guess I will have to look them up and listen! :)  That is a very cool picture of Shanghai and reminds me of some good times when I was there also.

Continued good luck in NYC.
