Hi,

What's the difference between 真 and 真的 ? If I'm not mistaken, the particle 的 means "of something". Does it make the word 真 standing before it stronger? very clear, very genuine?

Hello, a question in connection with the first sentence of this lesson.

In the sentence "How many of you (would like to be seated)?" the word "you" is plural. So why is it "nin2 ji3 wei4" and not "ni3 men ji3 wei4"?

Btw, do I remember right that the plural form "nin2 men" is not used, only "ni3 men" is used instead?

Hello, thanks for the great site, this is a question from a newbie. I thought that 学 means "to learn" and 校 means "school". So what is the added info in the word 学校? Why isn't just 校 enough? Is it a "school where one can learn"? Maybe the two words (学 and 校) are not exact equivalents of these two English words... ?

Hello. As far as I can tell, the two parts of "shi1 fu" (shi1 and fu4) both mean "teacher". Do you happen to know more about the logic / history of this word? (repeating = reinforcing?) Is there a difference between the meaning of the two "teacher" words? Can you tell words with this "fu"? Based on the character, this is not the same "fu" as in husband (zhang4 fu). Thanks!

Can I use the first sentence without shi4? Can someone please help me learn more about (1) when to use shi4 and when not (2) the difference between zai4 and shi4? Maybe through examples. Thanks!
