Posted on: English Grammar Difficulties
May 2, 2016 at 1:53 AMah, I have to skip this one.
question to other teachers; we ourselves, as we learn english as a mother tongue, pay no attention to grammar rules as we learn. Instead, we learn proper grammar through common exposure to the lnaguage; ie, 'he went to the game', 'he is going to the game', 'he will go to the game' etc et al, we learn by differentiating the context of the verb in terms of time, not by learning complicated rules that make things seem so much worse?
I am thinking that, just as I learn Chinese grammar -in context- and NOT -by rules-, then the study of English should largely be the same, (even if English grammar is so comparatively difficult .)
One consequence of this, is that instead of all of that time spent focusing on complicated grammar jargon and what not, you spend that time working through the language itself, learning in context of practice?

Posted on: Getting a Work Visa
April 21, 2016 at 1:12 AMMy first time in China, I lost my job because I was caught sneaking into prostitute alley..! The result ? I tried desperately to find other work, bounced between a few black market jobs, until my VISA expired. By this point, I was being exploited by a married couple entrepenuering in English. I decided to quit and just report myself to the American Consulate. I was deported and spent a year at a homeless shelter in Hawaii.
Ah.. all because of the sexual instinct and appetite of a young adulthood.
At least I grew up. Live and learn.
