Not sure if this question makes sense, but why is it 他住在南京 but 他在南京工作？I might have remembered the second sentence wrong, but the word orders are different.

This has reminded me that I need to buy a more up to date textbook. My current one has the word 唱片(vinyl record) but not 短信. A very useful and well-written lesson.

What's the difference between 怎么样 and 怎么了?

Also, what does 吧 do in this sentence：“那你告诉我吧”？

I notice that in the graphic zuò is written 做 but that in my textbook it is written 作. Both characters have similar dictionary entries - what's the difference? When should I use which?

Is there a standard way of describing yourself as a temporary intern? 

Also, would you explain the company you work for as 我在XXX工作?

Thanks Xiao_Liang, I guess with the Newbie lessons being worked through again this will give me plenty of opportunity to comment on more up to date threads than the lessons I had been working through.

I enjoyed this lesson; I'm new to studying Chinese (well, certainly a 'newbie', I'm about 200 words in) and I'm struggling a bit with the Community section on Chinese Pod. I was really hoping to find other users at about my level of Chinese with whom i could practice but the Community section seems to be a complete maze.

Please could someone suggest a currently active group of fairly new students? Thanks.
