January 5, 2017 at 9:33 PMI listen to it first, then study the vocabulary, then I write it out a few times and listen to it a few times more until I feel I have a good grasp of it. I tend to understand more of Fiona's commentary each time I listen to it. Also a good way to learn writing along with the lessons. Thanks for posting though, it is good to know I am not the only one struggling with the level jump.

February 7, 2017 at 1:13 AMThey may feel that having to work on it yourself helps learning. If you are always working with a transcript you will only engage part of your brain and the pure listening part will suffer. Or something like that. I find it frustrating too at times, but after listening to the lesson a few times I start to pick it up. Sadly, I can't ask the guy on the street in China to repeat what he said five or six times for me...
