I previously learned that "報仇" means, "to take revenge." This is also in the text. Is it the same as 收服？

我想問你們有沒有知道“引號” 有沒有別的標點符號取代它。好像之前沒有用引號吧。或者是我閱讀的那本書裏面的標點符號是繁體字才會用到的......

我自己的鍵盤打不了那個符號。我好奇知道怎麼叫它。

It would be nice to hear more. I'm also curious about the differences between mainlanders and Taiwanese. Also, what dictionary is standard for Mandarin? Many American English speakers may refer to Merriam Webster and the British English will use the Oxford. My Chinese dictionary may not be the same or most standard. Some of the tones that were written down in this lesson as common for speakers that differ in the dictionary didn't have any change. I'm curious about this. My dictionary's copyright is recent so maybe there are some changes being made.

After listening to this and the other lesson 拜日式 I hope my listening skills will increase when I listen to my Taiwanese instructor for yoga. It's very relaxing, even though I may not understand every detail, her tone of voice is soothing and the gist is enough for me. I like learning more about the benefits yoga has for the body and also how it plays with the whole picture of Chinese techniques and habits to stay healthy. My instructer gave me some instructions for strengthening my pulmonary system to lower cold and allergy symptoms. She went into great detail, and I didn't understand everything. Is there anyone here that knows of another lesson that can explain health benefits from yoga and other Chinese practices for overall health?

I asked a native speaker and she also usually uses 品質 or 質地 in the case of material quality. So is it a matter of a difference in the common dialect used in Taiwan as opposed to China? I'm not sure. Can anyone answer my questions?

Hi! I really have picked up a lot of great tidbits from listening to Chinesepod and I just starting using the online supplementary lessons. I have a few questions about word usage pertaining to this lesson. Maybe it's because I listen to Taiwanese speakers where I live, but I wanted to know the differences between 公平 和 公道  (gong1 ping2 and gong1 dao4) as well as 質量 和 品質(zhi4 liang4 and pin3 zhi4)  It maybe a matter of preference with the first pair but with the second, I know I've read 質量 on food items for terms of measurement. But I tend to go with using 品質 in my conversations when I talk about the quality of something. Maybe there are some subtlies that I'm not aware of yet. I'd really appreciate hearing back with anyone's input. Thanks!
