一段时间 yī duàn shíjiān is new to me. Duan is a measure word for a length of time right? Presumably 一段 would be a short amount of time (I only say this because 1 obviously a small number). Could someone elaborate on this usage, such as when you would or wouldn't use it, or point me to a podcast that does the same?
Can you use 段 in the same context with another number, or is it a set phrase like 一点? I ask because 一点 exists as a dictionary entry in Wenlin and Pleco while 一段 does not.
