The American plug has straight tines, so it's always falling out. The Aussies fixed that problem by slanting the tines. However, that makes the plug bigger. With a pair of pliers, you can bend the tines back and forth to suit your current country of abode.

According to my wife's (Chinese) sister, the Chinese plungers are crap (excuse the pun). When she visited here (USA) she marveled at our plungers (ooh, aah) and bought one for her trip home.
