What is the difference between 一下 and 一下儿? On ChinesePod it seems like whenever "a little bit" is used it is translated as 一下. However, in my college course using the Practical Chinese Reader it is translated as 一下儿.
Is there are difference? Or would the difference essentially be like a variation in English such as "come here one moment" and "come here a moment"? That is to say, you can say it either way and mean the exact same thing.

My professor at school, originally from Tianjin, and the book we use, Practical Chinese Reader, always uses 哪儿 for where. I didn't learn about 哪里 until listening to ChinesePod. I understand it's a northern-southern difference.
My question is whether in the north a humbe response to 谢谢 would be 哪儿 or would that just sound strange?
