Thank you ElijahW . I only use the PC not the mobile. Perhaps they are not identical. Must get the App

However, your comment made me check it all out again. I had only tested it out on the Full Lesson function. Using on the Dialogue is good enough. I can always pause when I want. I had a play in the Advanced lesson. That is where I would want to listen to the Full Lesson at a slower speed. I find the .75 to be generally OK for me and the sound quality is OK. However, the .5 speed loses a lot of sound quality. Perhaps your engineers might like to look at that.

I believe it is an important function to have. What do you ask someone when you do not understand what they have said, "请,再说,慢一点"

I would make a point of promoting it as a feature of ChinesePod and have a lesson on how to use it and why.

I am enjoying the new ChinesePod and will watch with interest as you develop it.

oh .... and the only reason I CAN talk to my Chinese friends in Chinese is because of ChinesePod. My only piece of advice to anyone studying is to use the language as soon as you can. I spend far far too long studying Chinese and not speaking Chinese. Basically, a lack of confidence. The normal problem for an adult learning something new.

I was a music teacher for many years. Children are over the moon when they can play twinkle twinkle little star. However, that does not cut it for adults, they want to play Beethoven after one lesson.

I know I still get a lot wrong when I speak Chinese, but I now do not care. It will improve over time. It will not improve if you do not speak.

Think of a child learning to speak. They are not worried about how they pronounce a word, grammer, etc etc. They are happy to make a sound. They get a lot of encouragement.

I find that when I speak Chinese, I also get a lot of encouragement.

What would you do if someone was trying to speak your language? Would you laugh at them or help them?

In the Dialogue section you have the individual sentences. I think it would be good if there was the function so they could be slowed down for study. As in the Audio for the Dialogue.

haha .... sometimes I understand the words, but my brain struggles to keep up with the meaning of the word/phrase/sentence. If the words are slowed down a little my brain finds it easier to keep up.

It is good to have the original at normal conversational speed, that is also important.

However, I could then slow it down when required for study. I found in the Upper Intermediate, that at .75 I kept up better.

My brain sometimes gets puffed running .... it just wants to stroll leisurely beside the words.

I have been with ChinesePod since 2008. I was just about to cancel the subscription for two main reasons. The first was no new lessons for a long time. The second, I was getting bored with the approach.

However, I decided to check it out first. I study for interest and to keep my brain active.

wow ...... congratulations!

I think the new format and approach is excellent.

I read the comments in the first Intermediate Lesson. While it is important to have faith in your new approach I see you have responded to the comments.

I particularly like the more detailed explanations of a word or phrase. I have a friend in China and we often spend a long time discussing the meaning of a word or phrase.

One feature I like is being able to slow down the dialogue. Can I suggest you do that for each of the sentences.

I speak regularly in Chinese with friends in China. They are very patient. If I do not understand I ask them to speak slower. It helps a lot.

Well done all ..... I look forward to continuing my study.

Could you make the Expansion words the same size as the Dialogue words in the future, please.
