I was still confused about the sentence, and even listened to the Qing Wen on The Double 了 Phenomenon looking for further clarification.

You pointing out the "已经。。。了" pattern made all the difference! 谢谢！

In the last sentence of the dialogue, the person says 我已经喝了一口了！  Since the double 了 (ongoing action) is used, does this sentence have the connotation of saying, "I already drank some, so I'm going to keep drinking it!" ?
