okay. It is used at the end of short phrases and sometimes full sentences as an emphatic. It's used to indicate completion. Some times it's used for past tense verbs. When pronounced "liao3" , it's almost always in a v-得-liao3， or v-不liao3 pattern (Example: 上不了網）

First off, let me say that I love jugs....water jugs.

Second, I'm very interested in hearing from the hosts ( and anyone else) about what makes them think Chinese grammar is so difficult. I've always thought it's really simple, but I'm open to hearing other opinions.
