The podcast mentions: 前一年：in the previous year/during the previous year - but I want to say more "after the previous year"
I wonder if you can say: 前一年过 or 前一年后

e.g. you meet a friend after not seeing them for a year and you might say "yeah, after this past year my chinese has improved alot"
