Once I had to ask whether whether a company was going to deliver goods by bus, car or courier service. I had no idea how to say those three things and make a distinction. How would you ask, "Are you delivering the goods by bus, car or courier?"

Also, is there any reasonable explanation for the usage of 可, or is it something you just have to "feel?"

By the way, in the transcript of the lesson, the man in the dialog says: "这样横冲直撞,差一点撞到我", but in the podcast, it seems to me that he says "撞倒." Am I hearing wrong?

To be honest, even though my Chinese level is right around Upper Intermediate or maybe higher, I find it difficult to use my language while living in China as well. I've gotten very good at small talk, but when it comes to serious conversation or just hanging out with Chinese people, I never really know what to say, much less how to say it. Has anyone else run into this problem?

There was a fantastic 日本料理自助餐 in Beijing right near 北大 when I was there last. Only about 70-80 kuai for all you can eat and drink, though for drinks they only had beer and soda.

By the way, how do you say "all you can eat" in Chinese? Is it just 自助餐 or is there another term?

Wow, I don't think I can remember all this vocabulary now, but I'll definitely listen to this lesson again before going to a Japanese restaurant next time. No more fumbling with the menu!

We also put two fingers behind people's hands as kids, but to make them look like devils with horns rather than rabbits. To each his own, I guess.

If 泡酒吧 means bar hopping, would 泡妞 mean girl hopping?

Hmmm... I'm a fan of the shoulder rub, personally. Would that be 按摩?
