I live in Henan provice, and I read the dialogue for a friend of mine who speaks Mandarin as her native language. She didn't bring it up, so I assume there's no major problem here...

I had no idea what a hob was either! I thought it was a British term, haha,

My second night in China, I stepped outside my apartment to have a smoke, taking only my phone, lighter and a single cigarette. I closed the door behind me, and only after I finished the cigarette did I realize I was effectively locked out...

It was 11pm so my boss (who has spare keys) was asleep, but I'd just gotten back from dinner with a friend, so I called him and slept at his place... how embarrassing!

I've managed not to repeat that mistake, but unfortunately I started another bad habit - I have a thumb drive attached to my keys, and sometimes when I print something right before class, I leave the thumb drive at the computer and completely fail to think about it before going home... argh.

决定 shows "decision" instead of the pinyin when you hover over it.

Great idea for a lesson... I live in Luoyang, in Henan Province, and I did an escape the room last year with some Chinese friends, it was so much fun!

Hi guys, fantastic lesson, lots of useful phrases and grammar here.

Question: I was practicing the dialogue with a Chinese friend, and she said 起酒疹 should be qǐ jiú zhěn because of two third tones running together, like with ní hǎo.

I don't remember Fiona or Gwilym touching on that - is it right? Should it be reflected in the transcript? Thanks!

Can we specify someone who isn't wearing something by just using 没戴 or 不穿?

i.e. 那个人是谁?

戴帽子的是-

不,没戴帽子的人是谁?

Or, in a sillier scene, 不穿裤子的人是谁?

Hi, can I use the time sentence structure for distance?

i.e. 我骑了六十公里的自行车,所以我好酸。I rode 60 kilometers, so I'm quite sore.
