January 27, 2009 at 2:49 AMi 'm fortunate to live in a city that speaks both french and english equally. the satisfaction to switch from one language sentence to another i experience every day. but, i also know that very few of us will achieve native fluency in a second and a third language. best to learn proper everyday conversation first sure, at a higher level is preferable. for my part, i don't want my new learn language(mandarin) to be less or more than the other two. again my opinion poetry and constant 'your the best' , 'i'm so honored' banter is over the top.

January 18, 2009 at 1:57 PMsome how i knew bababardwan would be first to agree with useless features (videos and poetry) towards learning conversational mandarin. these are only attempts to force upgrade to premium. i think pete spend to much time at the monastery. pete,do you just reply to positive comments and not barto's.

Thanks to everyone who gives pinyin and/or English translations of their Chinese characters in these discussions - since I'm a Newbie/Ellie, it helps a lot.
i go along with that!

April 21, 2008 at 3:39 PMlight487 says @licha - not sure what you mean? not surprise, my point exactly henning, not surprise either, you're one of the main 'daily chit/chat polluter' gesang, sometimes you have to cut to the chase.

April 20, 2008 at 3:14 PMwell, we have another polluter (unrelated chit-chat) in light487. you sound like a 8yrs old toddler > are you sure you are mature enough to use this mandarin learning podcast? i'm still hoping to learn a few extra vocabulary in pinyin by reading 'comments'
