June 1, 2010 at 5:56 PMI'm a bit confused with 死缓。 The definition in our vocab' list is a "stay of execution", but I've looked up the term and found that it's described elsewhere as a form of sentence unique to China, wiki has it as "death sentence with 2 years probation" basically you're detained in custody for 2 years and only executed if you break any laws in prison, otherwise the sentence is commuted to life without.
Anyone clear this up please, which is it?
